Venus


This planet is a similar size to the Earth. From it's mostly flat surface rise several areas that resemble the continents of the Earth. It is called the morning and evening star because at different times of the year you can easily see Venus with the naked eye, either just before sunrise, or just after sunset.

  • It takes longer for Venus to rotate once than it does for it to go around the Sun.
  • It spins in the oposite direction from earth
  • Distance from Sun: 110 million km (70 million miles)
  • Nobody knew what the surface of Venus looked like until 1975, when two space probes named Venera were sent by the Soviet Union.
